Finding Network Marketing Leads: to PPC or Not to PPC

Creating network marketing leads online seems so easy. Just put together a few ads and sell someone else’s book with an affiliate link on your site. Simple, right?

I wish. And I’m sure you do, too.

The truth is a bit more complicated than that. Let’s look at what skills you need, and also at your options to make this work, one way or another.

For PPC:

1. PPC requires Skills, Baby

Don’t let anyone tell you PPC is easy. TO make PPC work, you need training, and you need skills. You need to know how to write ads. You need a site that converts well. And that means a different skill from writing ads.

2. PPC requires Cold Hard Cash

Lest we forget, you will need plenty of cash to make your Pay Per Click campaign produce those network marketing leads. You have to feed the meter every day, or you won’t see any return.

This requirement trips up plenty of us marketers online. You start your campaign, you don’t see much activity. Maybe your ads show up on page 3. You increase your bids, but now you either have to drop your clicks per day by keeping the same budget, or you have to spend more.

That has taken plenty of you straight to maxed out credit cards! Look out for the bill next month!

3. PPC Runs in Waves

You get some sales, your funded proposal sells – it feels great! But then it stops selling. Someone out bids you, someone starts selling a new book, whatever. Your ads languish. You make no sales; no one sees your site.

PPC runs in waves like this because people who see your ads get tired of the same ads. They know which ones they have clicked on before, and what the ad leads to. So they stop clicking.

You must constantly update and change. New products. New ads. New site material for old visitors.

PPC Science

Due to these and other concerns, PPC has become its own science. And it will continue to expand. You’ll see kids go to college, get a degree in marketing with an emphasis in PPC.

If you can stay ahead of the trends and adjust your campaigns, you can win with PPC. But you can also go another way.

An Alternative to PPC

Instead of feeding the meter every day, you could build a site that produces network marketing leads spontaneously. Granted, this may take longer to do it right, but…

You can also do PPC is you want while you build a site. You can have instant traffic from PPC, while you build a site that draws people to you, attraction marketing style, to learn your tactics and join your team.

Life Takes Work

Granted, it’s not as easy as some gurus make PPC sound. You know, set up a campaign tonight and sell 25 of my books by tomorrow, right?

The great thing is a good site, once built, keeps gathering attention and visitors that you don’t have to advertise to get. A long term asset like that can really help you in the long run.
