3 Key Network Marketing Ideas to Lift You Up
I recently read an interesting thread over at Betternetworker.com. It’s a common concern: How do I sell my stuff when their stuff is cheaper? Or, how do you successfully sell a wellness product from a network marketing company when grocery store and health food store competitors sell it for less.
0. Ground Zero
Let’s call this number Zero of the 3 network marketing ideas I’ll explain below: the company has a product and pricing structure and you for a reason. You have to be more effective than the grocery store shelf.Picture this to help you see it. You walk into a store, and you see a box that says New House on the shelf. Would you buy this box? What if it said College Education? Or Future Spouse? Many of our best choices will require interaction to finalize. Just as few people use a mail order spouse to arrange a marriage, network marketing products require some extra work. With that out of the way, let’s go to the next concept.
1. Competitors
Put the competitors in their place: What kind of car do you drive? Is it the cheapest? Why not?Where do you live? Could you live in a less expensive place? Why don't you move? The simple answer to both questions: I like this car, scooter, motorcycle, apartment or mansion. You and I and everyone use products that we could get for less. Sometimes you just don’t like a certain product. Why else would we have 5 or more kinds of milk? Whole, 2%, 1%, nonfat, buttermilk, half and half, no lactose, acidophilus, raw, chocolate… And some will require interactive experience to get you comfortable with the product, to the point that you want to buy it. All products can work this way.
2. Your Customers
Next in our quick review of network marketing ideas to improve your retailing, how you will find customers who want what you have and keep buying it.If you tell people how a product or opportunity has helped you, they will decide if that stirs the same feeling in them. If your experience calls to them and they feel drawn to it, they buy. If they have a good experience, they keep buying. This is a key network marketing idea: product loyalty. Autoship. Like picking out a car or a place to live. Once you find one that works for you, you don’t want to change it just because the next one is cheaper. You can speed this up by offering good free information on how your product works, your industry, and how other solutions work. Then, when someone wants to know how you fixed your problem, you give them your story. And much of this can be automated. Most retail competitors offer easy solutions with little or no actual user information. You provide the difference. You don’t market your product like the store does, so you shouldn’t price like the store does.
3. The Price of Service
Just one more thought to really twist your brain on this one. You pay for products because you value them more than you value the money. You are willing to pay extra for a great service, like a tip, right? So if you consider the store to be part of the product, would you pay extra for a store where you know you will get the lowest price? Seems like an oxymoron, but I think Wal-Mart would answer yes. Not all of their prices are bargains, but they offer the idea that their price is lowest. Hope that helps.
