Is Your MLM Prospect Golden? 2 Types of Prospects

Is your MLM prospect that golden kind, ready to do anything to succeed? Or does she want to join just for the discount? Does it really matter?

Of course it matters! Let's look at how this question helps you with your success and leading a team and building a downline.

By the way, download my free ebook and below and get a great ebook on traffic. Just takes an email address...

The Difference

What is the difference between the two positions? In one case, your new distributor wants to become the next national sales director or triple diamond. In the other, you have someone who likes the product and wants to keep using it.

Think about it another way.

In many companies, you find the top 5% earn full time incomes. The top 1% usually earns well over 6 figures. You can apply this to your new recruit. In one case, you have the next super earner on your team, an MLM juggernaut. In the other 19 cases, you have a customer who wants to get the product at cost, maybe earn a small part time income.

I know, the numbers sound painful, but you can also find hope here as well. I know the top earner in one company. He was in approximately 6 other MLM opportunities before he succeeded.

Another mentor of mine earns well into six figures. He and his wife worked in a couple of others before succeeding.

What Makes The Difference?

I think the difference lies in three things. First, the product. Your MLM prospect must have an experience with the products that keeps him or her interested and buying.

Next, the opportunity has to work well. I had an experience several years ago where I like the product, but the opportunity had problems. Shortly after I joined, regulators shut it down. Bad news.

And third, personal timing plays a big role. Your MLM prospects have things going on in their lives you and even they can't control. If they find your opportunity at the right time, congratulations! If not, keep looking.

You need recruits with some money to work with, time to devote, and a strong desire. Sometimes one factor can make up for the others, too.

How This Works for You

Having a new MLM recruit with a strong desire to learn and grow obviously works for you. You can guide them and help them succeed, and profit. With just a few of these, you will earn a residual through the leadership overrides.

And having a new MLM consultant who wants to buy helps you, too. You'll have less trouble meeting your volume quotas, and make some override. Get enough of these, and you have residual income through your retail and meet all of your production.

The End Result: Combining The Two

To succeed long term in your business, you need both the casual consultant and the builder. Even when your new MLM prospect appears to have everything ready to start building, you won't know for a while until you see him work.

Be glad they have signed up with you either way. If they want to build, give them your time and help train them in your MLM. Take them to meetings and help them learn real marketing.

If they want to buy, great! Let them buy, and encourage them to sign up on your monthly autoship. Having customers is a good thing. Maybe later they will want to do more.
