Awesome MLM Lead Program: 20 Old Ways, 1 New
Need a better MLM lead program? Let me guess: you ran out of people on your list, and your brother is tired of signing up. Then check out this awesome list of 20 great ways to generate leads for your network marketing business. Even the top 10 MLM companies use the methods on this list. Most of this is tongue in cheek. Some of these methods really pull, but you need to be consistent and think through how the method fits in your MLM lead program, or you’ll make the common mistakes I have made and have noted below.

The List
I've done many of these - so laugh along with me.Be sure to read the last one – it could be the best. 1. Try a mailing list - those always work. Unfortunately, most newbies don't run a test on the list, don't know how to pick their list, and don't have the copywriting skills to make this work. 2. Go to a trade show. But don’t take anything to sell, or even collect names to call later. Or split the cost with others. Just hand out CD’s or samples. Great way to start an MLM lead program. 3. Buy a bunch of company marketing materials, including the big demo kit. You will want some of these, but too many of us. And this doesn’t generate MLM leads, just dust on your shelf. 4. Advertise in the classifieds. Once. 5. Gather business cards from all over town, then call the people & try to recruit them.Don’t be surprised if giving you their business card turns into their MLM lead program. 6. Call other networker's ads and try to recruit them. (Often called reverse recruiting.) 7. Talk to all the professional sales people you know, especially insurance agents and realtors. Call them all again next week. 8. When you have a meeting and get rejected, argue with your prospect. If possible, guilt them into signing up – these make great recruits! 9. Get a really expensive car & wardrobe. Expect this to be part of your MLM lead program. 10. Use the grand daddy of cold market methods: the 3 foot rule. Whenever you find yourself in a line at the store or filling your car with gas, talk to everyone around you. Note: be careful to avoid flirting, and don't act like you are inebriated. 11. 3 foot rule variation: Always try to recruit your taxi driver and waitress or waiter. They love it. Or your cashier, especially at the grocery store, bank or fast food place when you have a line behind you. The more you shop, eat out, and ride in taxis, the more you generate MLM leads. Sounds like another stimulus plan. Ka-ching! 12. Chat with sales people in retail stores. Never accept the first "no." Always make people say it 3 times or more. They just don't know how good this deal is. 13. Get pebbles, rocks, sand, or other debris. Put it in bags with a card with something witty on it like: Do you make $500,000 per month? Ask me how. Go litter your neighbors yards with these. If an HOA calls you, try to recruit them. 14. Sizzle cards on cars. Take the cards from #13 and put them on cars at your local mall. Don't worry about getting permission. When mall security calls, try to recruit them. Expect lots of calls from the people who found the cards. Your MLM lead program is in high gear now! 15. Turn red and blue into green. If you ever get pulled over, offer the officer a sample and try a recruiting approach. Make sure you hear 3 no's before you give up. To really generate MLM leads by the dozen, see if you can make a presentation at the station – the officer may even give you a ride. 16. When in doubt, blurt it out. Start every conversation with your opportunity. More info is usually better, so just keep talking to keep them from rejecting you. Besides, you can't say the wrong thing to a good prospect. 17. Sunday school sign up. Take a few recruiting packets with you to church. Bring up your opportunity during Sunday school, and be sure to relate it to the chapter you are reading. 18. School teachers: For another excellent opportunity, take your presentation to parent-teacher conferences. It’s like having a captive audience. 19. Go door to door. Everybody likes this one. You meet new people, you meet their Doberman, its all fun. 20. Telemarketing Turnaround: Ever get calls for donations to the police brotherhood? Or maybe from your mortgage company telling you to refinance? Turn those calls around with a phone presentation! Talk about a fun day! Try them all! You can kick that MLM lead program to the next level. Could be a level down, though.
A Real Lead Program
And now the last one, and a real lead program.Have you tried giving people the chance to voluntarily look at your opportunity? Then, after they look at it, if they have some interest, they can tell you. Now that’s a lead! You can do this a few ways. First, most people use a website with a form where people can sign up to learn more. You can also sell an ebook or other training to generate leads. This has been called a
funded proposal
. Then, after people sign up, you send them great training info, and the product if they ordered one. Later, you offer your opportunity and see if they want to pursue it. Neat, huh? You just bypassed the rejection, the Doberman, the presentation in the line at the grocery store. And your MLM lead program works in your sleep, too. Cool.
